and i will wait… [2013 movies i’m most excited for, part 2a.]

Friends, it has been a long time. Where do I even begin? Now that I FINALLY finished graduate school everything is in transition. What on earth should I do with the rest of my life? Much to think on.

First, I might as well start sharing awesome shit on Roused again, no?

Emily and I went to see Pacific Rim last week (which for all its many flaws was still really fun and uncommonly badass). With each new movie poster we passed, Emily asked me what the film was about and if I had heard anything about it. I realized that without RtM my own wife hadn’t seen all the trailers I normally share. It’s a travesty. So, if for no other reason than to share them with Emily, and of course because I promised to make this post back in January, here are the second half movies I am most excited about. Clearly, omitting most of July because it is already behind us. It’s a massive content dump for you to pick and choose those that interest you. To try and make up for lost time, I am going to share a ton of films. That being the case, I’m going to split it up into two posts.

P.S. – For obvious reasons, I haven’t done the usual scouring of the interwebs for new movie info, which means this list is far less knowledgable than those of the past. I’m 100% positive I am missing some great ones. For that reason, PLEASE send along recommendations. FEED ME!

Check it all out after the jump.

gravity. [trailer park.]

Gravity-Poster

This is one of those movies where it feels like I’ve been reading about it forever. Finally, a trailer. It’s got enough going for it that I was still excited after Sandra Bullock signed on. For me, that’s saying something!

There are more late trailers coming this week. It’s probably about the most blogging I can do in May with my course load. But soon… graduation!!

the world’s end. [trailer park.]

The World’s End finally has a trailer! Hopefully it lives up to its remarkable pedigree.

The trailer is really poorly constructed, and the MSN player audio is TERRIBLE for some reason. Unfortunately, this is all we’ve got for the moment. There is plenty of time between now and October for them to give us a better trailer.

let’s procrastinate with trailers!

I haven’t been blogging at all lately, because I am way behind on the master’s project I need to complete to graduate in June, and I needed to turn that into a full-time job for a bit. I’m still doing that now, but everybody needs to distract themselves from time to time. One of my favorite ways to do that is to watch movie trailers.

Since my friend Cris said the other day that she really enjoys how many trailers I post, I figured it was time to share some of the trailers I’ve been neglecting to post over the last week or so, to share the things that have been joyously distracting me with the rest of you, in case any of these have escaped your notice thus far. These are the highlights, there are a few more I might share the next time I need some distraction.

Much Ado About Nothing

A new trailer for Much Ado About Nothing. Did you know that in Elizabethan times, ‘nothing’ was slang for ‘vagina’? Oh, Shakespeare, you clever rascal.

How much more sure could I be that I’m going to love this movie? None. None more sure.

The Bling Ring

When Sofia Coppola releases a new movie, I’m watching it no matter what. Throw in Emma Watson, and the certainty just solidifies all the more.

Mood Indigo

Finally, a trailer for the new Michel Gondry movie for those of us who aren’t cool enough to know French. I should really learn French.

This movie looks like it is going to be delightful, and heartbreaking. Welcome back Mr. Gondry.

Pacific Rim

Pacific-Rim-03

The new trailer for Pacific Rim begs the question… will I be able to take Charlie Day seriously after how perfectly hilarious he’s been all these years on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

I really want this movie to be awesome.

Man of Steel

Everyone has probably seen this by now, it’s the newest trailer that came out about two weeks ago.

I held off on watching it for a while, to delay gratification a bit. Had I know how amazing it was going to be, I would have watched it right away. Instead, it was a treat before seeing Oblivion. It moved me from reservedly excited, to just plain excited.
